Job summary

Burhill Group Limited (BGL) is hiring a Part-Time Chef to join our kitchen team, working mainly on the Café Menu and clubhouse food service, with involvement in functions, events, weddings, and golf competitions.

You will maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and kitchen cleanliness while collaborating with the wider kitchen team. Experience in a café/restaurant environment and a good understanding of food hygiene are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is essential.
• Experience in café, restaurant, pub or clubhouse is desirable.
• Experience at functions or larger events would be advantageous.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a team during busy services.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to support the wider kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes from Café Menu to the required specification and presentation standards.
• Provide high-quality food for golfers, members and visitors throughout daily clubhouse service.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of functions, events, weddings, golf competitions and other larger bookings.
• Work effectively across different areas of the kitchen, supporting the team during busy services.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and served consistently, following recipes and portion controls.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety at all times.
• Complete daily kitchen tasks, including preparation, stock rotation, cleaning and maintaining organised fridges, freezers and work areas.
• Assist with deliveries, stock control and ensuring food is stored correctly.
• Minimise food waste and work within agreed GP and portion control standards.
• Follow function sheets and event specifications carefully to ensure all requirements are met.
• Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team.
