Job summary

Dexter Talent is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to join its infrastructure team. You will deploy, maintain and support hosted infrastructure across private datacentres and public cloud, with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.

The role operates on a shift pattern with an on-call rota. Hybrid working includes 2 days per week in the office, offering exposure to a broad and varied infrastructure and cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on virtualization experience with VMware or Nutanix.
• Strong Windows and Linux server support at 2nd line level or above.
• Experience deploying across private datacentre and public cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with IaC and automation tools.
• AWS, Linux or Kubernetes certifications.
• ITIL qualification or awareness.
• Windows Server certificates.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure infrastructure via automation across datacentres and public cloud.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure to meet uptime SLAs and resolve issues.
• Patch systems, update applications and apply security hardening.
• Manage virtualised platforms, storage, servers and network devices.
• Support customer systems and resolve incidents per SLAs.
• Test, validate and document changes per change management processes.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and platform deployments.
• Prepare clear technical documentation, build records and status reports.

Job description

A fantastic client of ours is looking for a Cloud Support Engineer to join their infrastructure team. You'll be working across a mix of private datacentre and public cloud environments deploying, maintaining and supporting hosted infrastructure while contributing to automation and continuous improvement across the platform.

This role operates with a shift pattern with participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota, so comfortability with that is essential.

What you'll be doing:

• Deploying and configuring infrastructure via automation tooling across physical datacentres and public cloud platforms
• Monitoring and maintaining infrastructure to meet uptime SLAs and resolve operational issues
• System patching, application updates, vulnerability remediation and security hardening across hosted systems
• Managing and maintaining virtualised platforms, storage solutions, servers and network devices
• Supporting customer systems and resolving incidents in line with agreed SLAs
• Testing, validating and documenting changes in line with change management processes
• Contributing to technical projects including infrastructure changes and new platform deployments
• Preparing clear technical documentation, system build records and status reports

You'll need:

• Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Nutanix etc
• Strong background in Windows and Linux server support at 2nd line level or above
• Experience deploying and configuring solutions across private datacentre and public cloud environments including AWS and Azure
• Familiarity with IaC and automation tools
• AWS, Linux or Kubernetes certifications
• ITIL qualification or awareness
• Windows Server certs

What's on offer:

£30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office and the opportunity to develop across a broad and genuinely varied infrastructure and cloud environment.
