Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Customer Engineer for the UK/Ireland Startups & Scaleups Growth team to lead high-impact technical engagements with rapidly scaling startups. You will help founders, CTOs and developers scale products on Google Cloud, acting as a trusted advisor to accelerate delivery and optimize architecture.

Google Cloud delivers enterprise-grade solutions and tools to power growth across 200+ countries, enabling customers to solve critical business problems with cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role in the cloud computing industry.
• Experience designing, architecting, and deploying cloud-native apps, containerized environments (Kubernetes/GKE), and modern data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compelling presentations, product demonstrations, and technical workshops at Google events and industry conferences.
• Build and nurture strong, trusted-advisor relationships with startup CTOs, founders, lead architects, and engineering teams.
• Help customers design and scale modern data platforms using BigQuery, real-time streaming, and vector databases as the core foundation for their application logic and AI capabilities.
• Guide startups on implementing advanced AI workloads, including Generative AI and LLMs, utilizing Gemini and partner model ecosystems (e.g., Anthropic).
• Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, address technical objections, and design secure, scalable cloud architectures.
