Job summary

Hackajob Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer II on the Pathfinder team to contribute to an agile group building trusted technology products on AWS public cloud and private cloud.

You will write, test, and deploy production-quality code, participate in reviews, and help improve delivery workflows while applying AI-assisted development responsibly.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with applied experience.
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python or Go.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery.
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with validation of outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling.
• Preferred: container/orchestration experience with AWS Lambda, Kubernetes (EKS) or AWS ECS.

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with applied experience
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go
• Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and the Software Development Lifecycle
• Understanding of agile methodologies and consistent delivery within a sprint-based model
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, with the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Preferred: Experience with container and orchestration technologies such as AWS Lambda, Kubernetes (EKS), or AWS ECS
