Job summary

Synnovis is seeking a Server and Cloud Engineer to join the Corporate IT team in London. The role focuses on server, cloud and infrastructure services across Synnovis and SYNLAB UK, with the office based in Blackfriars and occasional travel.

You will work with Network, M365 and Cyber Security teams, MSPs, and stakeholders to ensure secure, resilient and well-documented technology. A hands-on, collaborative role within a growing pathology organisation.

Qualifications

• English GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4 or higher.
• Mathematics GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4 or higher.
• Previous experience in Windows Server operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory or Entra Domain Services.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Microsoft PowerShell.
• Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Server environments (RDS) or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Experience in change management.
• Experience in an ITIL environment.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain server and cloud platforms across Synnovis and SYNLAB UK units.
• Provide third-line technical support for incidents and requests.
• Design, implement and support infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Maintain Azure, Windows Server and related technologies.
• Support identity and access management services with least-privilege principles.
• Contribute to patching, backup, recovery and resilience activities.
• Monitor health, capacity and performance and identify improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Support transition of projects to BAU operations.
• Collaborate with IT teams and MSPs to ensure service delivery.
• Participate in change, maintenance and service-improvement activities.
