Job summary

Motability Operations is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support, maintain and improve scalable cloud infrastructure. You will manage day-to-day operations and ensure platform availability, aligning with the Platform Services’ run/build squads in an agile environment.

The role offers hybrid working with 3 days in the office and locations in Bristol, London or Edinburgh, reflecting a strong customer-centric cloud delivery focus.

Qualifications

• You have some experience using the command line and are interested in developing your skills further.
• You have an interest in scripting and some experience with Java or Python, whether through your studies, projects or personal learning.
• You’re interested in how software is developed and have some awareness of software development methodologies, such as Agile.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the Platform Service Delivery Lead the key responsibility of the role is to support, maintain and improve highly scalable and reliable cloud platform infrastructure services. You will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Cloud Platform and be accountable for its availability.

Location and hours

• Bristol, London or Edinburgh
• 35 hours per week
• Hybrid working with minimum 3 days per week in the office

Platform Services are responsible for ensuring that our cloud platforms are always available to meet the needs of our customers.

Continuous improvement is a key ethos of the team. The teams are organised into run and build squads. The run squad is responsible for day to day monitoring. and support. The Build squad looks for continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the services that we offer. Both squads’ work in a fully agile way and are rotated.
