Job summary

NEC Software Solutions is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design and operate core cloud foundations. You will implement landing zones, IAM integration, networking, and IaC frameworks, working with senior engineers and service teams.

The role sits in the Cloud Platform Engineering team and reports to the Cloud Platform & Services Operations Manager. It requires hands-on DevOps practices and security-conscious workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with cloud foundations, IAM integration and networking.
• Experience in IaC with Terraform and cloud automation.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement landing zones, account structures and baseline configurations.
• Provision and manage shared platform services and IAM integrations.
• Implement IAM policies, RBAC, and federated identity; automate provisioning.
• Build and maintain cloud networking (VNets/VPCs, DNS, gateways).
• Develop Terraform templates; support CI/CD for platform provisioning.
• Create automation tooling and self-service capabilities for teams.
• Operate BAU tasks: incidents, patches, onboarding new environments.
• Maintain documentation; collaborate with Security, FinOps and Platform Services.
• Implement new platform capabilities and architectural enhancements.
• Improve automation, self-service, developer experience.
• Refactor platform components for security, scalability, reliability.
