Job summary

SSE PLC is seeking a Cloud Engineering professional to contribute to the design and delivery of cloud services, driving infrastructure enhancements and automation patterns. The role offers exposure to migrating applications to Cloud and delivering scalable, resilient solutions across platforms.

You will collaborate with strategists, architects and product owners to align demand with backlogs, develop automation, and improve engineering practices while ensuring security is embedded in all cloud

Qualifications

Understanding of AWS or Azure and cloud-native architectures is essential.
Cloud certification in AWS or Azure is desirable but not essential.
OS knowledge (Windows and/or Linux) is desirable.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of operational support.
Familiarity with SDLC and at least one language (Python, Go, Java).
Experience with IaC (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible/Puppet) plus CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product owners to manage demand planning and delivery against backlog.
Design and develop automation, self-service and deployment frameworks in line with cloud patterns.
Identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement across engineering and delivery.
Support stakeholders to adopt Cloud Native patterns, delivering scalable, resilient solutions and provide progress updates.
Ensure architecture and Cloud infrastructure meets latest security and lifecycle patterns.
