Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer in Investment Banking to drive migration of the trading platform to a cloud-native code-base. You will lead technical delivery in an agile team, building trusted, scalable, and secure software products that underpin market activities.

As a core technical contributor, you will design solutions, develop production code, and mentor engineers while advancing CI/CD, security, and resiliency across complex financial systems.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on Java concepts and proficient advanced experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in Java or more programming language(s).
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile).
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met.
• Gathers and analyzes data to develop visuals and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Identifies hidden data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and architecture.
• Leads automation to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive adoption of new technologies.
• Promotes a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
