Job summary

The NORI Institute at the University of Sunderland seeks a Research Data and Infrastructure Engineer to design secure cloud infrastructure supporting AI‑enabled healthcare and translational research.

You will lead secure data platforms, integrate complex health and research datasets across multiple systems and Secure Data Environments, enabling researchers to work safely with large multimodal data to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading the design and operation of cloud-based research data platforms.
• Experience in secure data environments and governance, privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to translate complex research requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of secure cloud infrastructure across university/NHS/industry partnerships.
• Integrate healthcare and research datasets across multiple systems and secure environments.
• Enable researchers and clinicians to work safely with large multimodal data at scale.
• Drive infrastructure strategy across organisational boundaries with stakeholders.
