Job summary

Hargreaves Lansdown is seeking a Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to help build and evolve one of our key customer discovery platforms. You’ll work on AWS serverless backend services and APIs, contributing to frontend when required, and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to deliver customer value.

The role emphasizes ownership of features, solving complex problems, and advancing cloud-native architectures in a modern digital experience.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building backend services.
• Experience creating scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Ability to work with GraphQL-based architectures and APIs.
• Knowledge of event-driven systems and service integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services
• Build scalable APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
• Develop AWS serverless applications using modern engineering practices
• Contribute to platform scalability, resilience, observability and performance
• Work across the full stack where required
• Take ownership of features and issues from design through to production
• Drive engineering improvements, automation and operational excellence
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Collaborate with Product, Platform and Engineering teams to deliver value
• Support developers in transitioning to cloud-based solutions
