Job summary

Hargreaves Lansdown seeks a full stack engineer to design and evolve customer-facing services within AWS serverless environments. You will build backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities, while contributing across the stack including React.

You’ll join a collaborative team delivering secure, scalable software and adopting GraphQL, AI-enabled tooling and modern cloud-native practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable backend services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of AWS serverless architectures and cloud-native patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js/TypeScript and React.
• Experience with GraphQL design, federation and migrating REST to GraphQL.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, metrics, tracing).

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs.
• Develop AWS serverless applications and integrations.
• Collaborate on data platform enhancements and data processing.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Help improve performance, resilience and observability across systems.
• Assist with frontend work using React and TypeScript when needed.
• Champion automation and modern delivery practices.
