Job summary

IBM Software is transforming client challenges into scalable backend services for cloud-native platforms. You will work on designing, building, and deploying backend systems that power Confluent Cloud components and related services, collaborating with teams across the organization.

You will apply best practices in distributed systems, containerization, and modern cloud frameworks, while contributing to reliability, performance, and observability in production environments.

Qualifications

• Experience developing backend software in a production or professional environment.
• Proficiency in one or more major programming languages such as Java, Go, C/C++, Python.
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including testing, code reviews, debugging and documentation.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices and cloud-native application development.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services that deliver value to customers.
• Work with senior engineers on designing scalable, reliable services.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across a stack including microservices and cloud infrastructure.
• Write clean, well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Contribute to code reviews, discussions and documentation.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operation of production services.
