Job summary

INEOS Energy in London is seeking an Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join the IT team. The role provides hands‑on support across server, cloud, network and infrastructure services to maintain the availability, security and integrity of IT systems.

You will work under the Head of IT, deploying, configuring and supporting Azure and AWS, Hyper‑V and VMware environments, with a focus on security, backups and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, systems administration or a junior infrastructure role.
• Relevant technical training or qualification; degree desirable, not essential.
• Hands‑on, quick to learn and able to explain technical changes clearly to non‑technical users.
• Good troubleshooting skills and judgement on when to elevate issues.
• Interest in an infrastructure and cloud engineering career with ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deployment, configuration and support of server, storage and network hardware.
• Support L2/L3 switch configuration and network troubleshooting across Cisco/HP environments.
• Administer and monitor Azure and AWS services, and virtualised server environments.
• Monitor and administer backup and replication jobs, and investigate failures.
• Apply security patches and configuration changes to maintain policy compliance.
• Support server builds, hardware refreshes and Hyper‑V/VMware administration.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and procedures.
• Perform daily backup checks and support cloud rotation processes.
• Assist with vulnerability scans, patching and server hardening.
