Job summary

Computershare Edinburgh is seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst to join the team in a hybrid role. The analyst will manage cloud spend, focusing on Azure, and work with finance, engineering and operations to optimise costs and drive budgeting and forecasting processes.

The role requires strong data analysis, reporting skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Prior FinOps experience in a complex organisation is highly valued.

Role This role is in a new but maturing team where you have the potential to help share it moving forward. A role you will love As one of our Cloud FinOps Analysts, you will support the financial management and optimization of cloud resources, with an initial focus on Azure. This role is responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting on cloud cost data to ensure transparency, accountability, and cost efficiency across teams. We aim to expand from public cloud to incorporate private cloud scope over time. In this role, you will be working closely with finance, engineering, and operations, the analyst helps track usage patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Some Key Responsibilities Include Track and report on cloud spend across platforms, providing usage summaries and variance analysis. Assist in identifying opportunities by analysing usage patterns and generating data to support optimisation activities. Contribute to the development and execution of FinOps processes, aligning with ITSM workflows and change management practices. Assist in cloud cost reporting, forecasting and budgeting by preparing historical spend reports and usage trend analysis. Monitor policy compliance related to cloud usage and cost control. As you’ve probably gathered by now, we are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of FinOps practices and successful execution of them. The role also requires very strong data analysis and reporting skills and the ability to make recommendations based on the data. With this role being global and a key part of our team, we are looking for someone with prior experience in a similar role in a complex organisation. As this role will be dealing with various different stakeholders and teams, you will need excellent communication skills to effectively provide clear verbal and written communications with internal stakeholders, their teams and the leadership team. Other Key Skills Required For The Role Include Prior proven experience working within a Cloud FinOps role, ideally within a financial services environment. Excellent public cloud experience and service knowledge, particularly with Microsoft Azure & cost optimisation models. Reporting skills to effectively provide updates and analysis for stakeholders and teams, tailoring the content level for the target audience. Experience of creating and maintaining PowerBI reports, preferably including the Microsoft FinOps toolkit. Excellent attention to detail and evaluative judgement based on best practice and previous experience. Existing knowledge of the FinOps Foundation Framework and active certification would be a real benefit for this role.
