Job summary

Capital on Tap in London (Old Street) seeks a senior Cloud Engineer to lead core infrastructure and standards across our global engineering effort. You will mentor engineers, drive performance, and champion DevSecOps from the front while collaborating with Product, Engineering Managers and QA to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Hands-on leadership, IaC with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines are essential as we balance speed, quality, and security in a hybrid London setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex cloud projects.
• Strong mentorship and people management skills.
• Extensive experience with public cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Terraform and IaC practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to engineers to support growth.
• Drive team performance by removing bottlenecks and ensuring delivery.
• Lead adoption of AI within the team for operations and projects.
• Foster open communication across remote, hybrid, and in-person environments.
• Stay hands-on in cloud engineering and lead by example.
• Define and enforce cloud engineering best practices for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and QA to align strategy and deliver outcomes.
• Contribute cloud perspective to product decisions balancing speed and quality.
• Identify and mitigate risks before they block progress.
• Embed DevSecOps principles across security, monitoring, and automation.
