SSE is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join the central Cloud Engineering team in Reading/Havant. You will focus on backup/data protection, with Rubrik, across IaaS/PaaS and on-premises infrastructure, contributing to SSE's cloud migration program and overall platform resilience.
You will work with strategists, architects and product owners to design pragmatic solutions, drive automation and ensure secure, auditable deployments in a hybrid environment.
Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations : Reading / Forbury Place, Havant / Penner Road
Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

This role is within the central Cloud Engineering team and focusses on our backup capability using Rubrik. You would contribute to the design and delivery of services delivered within SSE, primarily in the backup/data protection space across various IaaS and PaaS cloud services, but also on-premises infrastructure, but also have the opportunity to get involved in other cloud initiatives. The role will provide the opportunity to be part of SSE's digital transformation and migration of applications to Cloud, ensuring the platform achieves the target standards of efficiency, resilience and availability required by the organisation.
