Job summary

You will work with digital teams to advance the Trust's Digital programme and ensure robust ITIL-aligned cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or holds a professional qualification.
• Masters in related specialism, or equivalent experience.
• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior professional certification relevant to cloud, security, digital or technical leadership.
• Microsoft Azure certification or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the management, development and operation of cloud infrastructure systems and resources across the Trust.
• Ensure the efficient and effective running of Trust cloud-based systems and assist in ensuring that appropriate disaster recovery plans are in place.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance contracts are in place for key cloud-based systems.
• Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures for cloud infrastructures.
• Contribute to threat intelligence activities and proactive security monitoring.
• Contribute to cloud security policies, procedures and practices for local and regional infrastructure.
• Assist with the continuous development of the Trust's alignment to Cyber and Information Security processes.

Job description

The post holder will lead programmes of work across the Trust, contributing to service design, strategic development, and continuous service improvement of effective cloud services that underpin excellent clinical care. The role involves implementation, management, and operational delivery of core cloud infrastructure services across the Trust and, where applicable, other supported healthcare organisations, including the Thames Valley and Surrey Secure Data Environment (TVS SDE). Working alongside the Cloud Architect, the post holder will lead take ownership of the implementation and day-to-day management of cloud-based infrastructure, supporting key Trust-wide services and technologies. This includes Azure platform engineering, security and compliance tooling, data platform infrastructure, and NHS governance frameworks. A key component of this role is contributing to a secure and robust cybersecurity posture, supporting the Trust's statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and, for the TVS SDE specifically, ISO 27001 compliance, while retaining the flexibility to support regional programmes such as the TVS SDE. The post holder will support the implementation of cloud solutions in line with ITIL practices and will maintain strong working relationships with other Digital teams to contribute to delivery of the Trust's Digital programme across the local and regional health community., Cloud services

Cyber security

• Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures that contribute to the effective running of cloud infrastructures across the Trust. Assist in ensuring infrastructure working policies and procedures are developed, maintained and monitored in line with best practice.
• Contribute to threat intelligence activities and proactive security monitoring, using relevant internal and external sources to identify emerging risks, inform detection logic, and support timely response to cloud-related security threats.
• Contribute to the development of cloud security policies, procedures and practices for local and regional infrastructure and systems.
• Assist with the continuous development of the Trust's alignment to related Cyber and Information Security processes.

Desirable criteria

• Project management qualification (eg PRINCE 2)
• CISMP qualified, or equivalent, Proficient in the control and management of ICT assets (or configuration items) including hardware, software, documentation, services, suppliers and network facilities by the use and application of strict change management and recording
• Detailed knowledge of modern approaches to cloud-based data infrastructure, including infrastructure-as-code and tooling for automation, including Bicep and at least one of Azure Terraform, ARM templates, or PowerShell DSC
• Hands-on experience of cloud-based services, including virtual networks, firewalls, key vaults, monitors, and policies. Understanding of ITIL service management principles and their application to cloud operations

Desirable criteria

• Detailed knowledge and understanding of Virtualisation (Hyper-V and VMware) technologies
• Experience with Azure Databricks, including Unity Catalog and data platform access controls
