Job summary

Halliburton in Abingdon, Oxfordshire invites applications for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our Technical Solutions Team. You will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and operational scripts in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Working closely with application developers, you will help automate provisioning, monitoring, and incident response, while upholding security best practices and IaC with Terraform.

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/SE.
• 2+ years experience building distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Hands-on with major public cloud providers (AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Scripting skills: Python, Bash, or PowerShell; AWS CLI; Flux CLI.
• Networking knowledge including firewall principles and WAF.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging/alerting tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong problem-solving in fast-paced agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure for scalable apps.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests, deployments.
• Write and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, deployment.
• Create tooling to streamline monitoring, logging, backups, and incident response.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure integration of code and infrastructure.
• Monitor performance, availability, and reliability with appropriate tools.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across environments.
• Enforce cloud security policies and IaC best practices.
• Maintain and improve IaC scripts and templates.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
