Job summary

IBM Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, automate, deploy, and maintain secure cloud and hybrid environments for public sector clients. You will build CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC, and collaborate with developers, security teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable software delivery across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in AWS, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices.
• Scripting experience with Python or Shell/Bash.
• Familiarity with Git and SDLC/DevOps methodologies.
• Understanding of automated testing and secure-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain AWS cloud and hybrid environments.
• Install, configure, and manage DevOps automation tools across cloud and on-premises infra.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Develop automation and deployment scripts using Python, Shell/Bash, or similar languages.
• Package, deploy, and support applications across development, test, and production environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD to improve software quality.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
• Work with developers, architects, testers, security teams, and public sector clients.
