Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions UK Ltd. is seeking an Engineer to join the Data Platform team. You will support and evolve cloud-based database platforms powering critical services, while expanding expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, and Infrastructure as Code in a modern AWS environment.

You will work with experienced engineers and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions and continuously improve platform performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in database engineering or cloud platform operations.
• Relational databases: MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Linux administration and scripting (Python preferred).
• Version control with Git.
• Security best practices in platform design and operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve highly available cloud database platforms hosted in AWS.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges with engineers.
• Monitor, analyse, and optimise database and platform performance.
• Automate operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.
• Support backup, recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Evaluate and introduce technologies to improve performance, stability, and security.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and stakeholders.
