Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is seeking an Engineer to join our Data Platform team. You’ll help support and evolve cloud-based database platforms powering critical services, while expanding expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, and IaC.

You’ll collaborate with engineers to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable solutions in an AWS environment, contributing to high availability and continuous improvement across the platform.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in database engineering or cloud platform operations.
• Experience with AWS and relational databases (MySQL/Aurora).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and Linux scripting (Python).

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve highly available cloud database platforms hosted in AWS.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges with experienced engineers.
• Monitor, analyse, and optimise database and platform performance.
• Automate operational processes using IaC and modern DevOps practices.
• Support backup, recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve performance, stability and security.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
