Job summary

Penguin Random House is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our Technology team in London. The role is permanent with hybrid working from our Embassy Gardens office.

You will help design robust data foundations for our cloud data platform, align architecture with business outcomes, and collaborate with data platform and analytics teams. You will translate product priorities into architectural designs, support Dev/DataOps initiatives, and ensure governance and security across data

Qualifications

• Extensive experience architecting cloud-based data engineering, BI and data science solutions.
• Strong skills in data modelling and scalable data schemas.
• Proficient in dbt, SQL and cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake migrations and data lake design.
• Able to collaborate with engineering, product and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

• Design robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures for our cloud platform.
• Migrate legacy data into Snowflake and modern data layers.
• Embed security, quality, performance and scalability by design.
• Ensure Power BI reporting and analytics integration.
• Define technical direction aligned with data strategy and roadmap.
• Support data governance and compliant use of data.
• Collaborate with data science and analytics teams on advanced use cases.
• Stay updated on data industry trends to improve the platform.
