Job summary

A Wendover-based, well-established accountancy practice is seeking an organised and reliable bookkeeper who thrives on variety and working closely with clients. You will manage bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients, using cloud systems to keep records accurate and up to date.

You’ll post and reconcile entries, prepare VAT returns and provide essential management information. Experience with Xero, QuickBooks or Sage is desired, with strong Excel skills and an AAT qualification or ongoing

Qualifications

• Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally within a practice or outsourced setting.
• Confident on cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks or Sage).
• Good knowledge of VAT and MTD requirements.
• Strong Excel and a methodical, accurate approach.
• AAT qualified or studying is welcome (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Running day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
• Posting and reconciling sales, purchase, bank and journal entries
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with MTD
• Producing management information and reports where needed
• Working across clients' cloud systems — Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and keep records current
