Job summary

Next Ventures is seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect (Azure & GCP) to lead cloud transformation in a regulated banking environment. The role is hybrid in London with three days onsite at Canary Wharf or Liverpool Street, focusing on modernising core banking platforms and ensuring regulatory, operational, and security requirements are met.

You will define architectures, lead reference patterns, and guide engineering teams through migration strategies, IaC adoption, and CI/CD pipelines, while

Qualifications

• Strong architecture and engineering experience across Azure and GCP.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale multi-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, AKS, App Services, and Entra ID.
• Experience with Terraform IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in regulated financial services and risk governance.

Responsibilities

• Define target architectures for cloud adoption and modernization.
• Develop Azure and GCP reference architectures, patterns, and standards.
• Align cloud capabilities with business, regulatory, and operational needs.
• Provide architectural leadership across transformation programs.
• Assess legacy apps and define migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor).
• Drive IaC adoption using Terraform and native tooling.
• Collaborate with security, risk, and platform teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions.
