We're looking for Cloud Platform Service Engineers to join the team delivering a major cloud and platform managed service for an oil and gas customer.
This is an early-career engineering role and we don't expect you to arrive knowing everything.
You might already have some experience supporting Windows servers, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking or virtualisation. You may have worked on a service desk or infrastructure support team and be looking for your next step into cloud and infrastructure engineering. Or you may already be working in a junior cloud or infrastructure role and want exposure to a much larger technology environment.
You'll join a team of experienced Cloud and Infrastructure Platform Engineers and a Platform Technical Lead who will support your development. You'll start by handling day-to-day incidents, service requests, monitoring alerts, patching, backups and standard changes, with more experienced engineers available when an issue becomes more complex.
The environment itself is large and varied, covering Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Windows and Linux infrastructure, Microsoft 365 and other cloud technologies. You do not need previous experience with all — or even most — of these.
We want you to investigate problems rather than simply move tickets between queues. When you don't know something, we'll expect you to do some investigation, ask good questions and learn from the engineers around you.
You'll work within established support processes using ServiceNow to manage incidents, requests and changes. If you've never used ServiceNow before, that's fine — experience with another ticketing or IT service-management system is equally useful.
As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll take on increasingly complex work and have a clear progression route towards becoming a Cloud and Infrastructure Platform Engineer.
