Job summary

Medway NHS Foundation Trust in Gillingham, Kent, invites applications for a Clinical Trust Fellow (ST3+) in Gastroenterology. This post offers training opportunities within a busy gastroenterology and general medicine service, under consultant supervision.

You will deliver inpatient care, support outpatient clinics, and contribute to teaching and governance while developing your clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Primary Medical Degree and GMC licence to practise.
• MRCP and ALS certification.
• Minimum three years' hospital service in CT-equivalent or higher grades.
• Experience in teaching and clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality clinical care for patients admitted under Gastroenterology and General Medicine.
• Participating in consultant-led ward rounds and reviewing patients.
• Assessing and managing acutely unwell patients and escalating concerns promptly.
• Developing and implementing management plans for GI and medical conditions.
• Supporting outpatient Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics with supervision.
• Performing procedures appropriate to grade and competence.
• Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Supervising and contributing to the education of junior doctors and students.
• Ensuring safe handover and contributing to governance and audits.
