Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced operational leader to ensure safe, efficient day-to-day service delivery while driving improvements across the Directorate. You will work with clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care and better access and outcomes.

This role requires strong organisational, communication and project management skills, plus the ability to influence change across professional boundaries in a fast-paced NHS

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a managerial role in the NHS.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience line managing a varied multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and ensure safe, effective day-to-day running of designated services.
• Lead transformation and improvement projects across the Directorate.
• Support performance delivery, including RTT, Diagnostics and Cancer targets.
• Contribute to emergency care pathways within relevant specialties.
• Maintain oversight of budgets and support financial planning and cost-improvement initiatives.
• Develop business cases and service development proposals.
• Provide line management, appraisals and staff development.
• Represent the Directorate at internal and external meetings, deputising for senior managers when required.
