Job summary

The Lincolnshire Electronic Assistive Technology Service, run by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, seeks a Clinical Technologist to fit, configure, and maintain assistive devices in patients’ homes. You will work with therapists across three counties, ensuring safe operation and ongoing support.

You will train patients and carers, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to service development, with hybrid working and essential driving.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
• Willingness to drive across the service locality (East Midlands).

Responsibilities

• Take part in multidisciplinary assessment of patients with complex disabilities, selecting and configuring equipment to test abilities.
• Assemble, install and commission electronic assistive equipment in patients' homes or for mobile use.
• Provide ongoing support, including reviewing prescriptions and adjusting equipment.
• Investigate and prioritise breakdown reports and liaise with manufacturers and wheelchair staff.
• Train patients and carers in installed systems and produce written instructions.
• Carry out risk assessments and report incidents.
• Keep records, documentation and service history; procure equipment and oversee safety testing.
• Deliver workshops and train staff; contribute to service development and publicise the service.
