Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support workers to work within our Out of Hours Night Nursing team. This post will work closely with the Out of Hours wider team and carry out routine care for patients in support of and supervised by Senior Staff Nurses/Registered Nurse.

You should have excellent communication skills which include effective written skills and a good working knowledge of IT systems.

The role will include various clinical skills which include wound care, venepuncture, medicine administration, catheter care and other appropriate clinical investigations, without supervision. Training will be provided and NHS Forth Valley is supportive of lifelong learning and development. It is also essential that you are keen to learn and develop new skills.

You will also be involved in caring for palliative and end of life patients in their own home, with difficult conversations.

You will provide support to other members of the MDT including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, staff nurses and student nurses.

You will also carry out assigned duties to meet the patient's needs that will ensure that they are cared for appropriately.

You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and refer appropriately to the Registered Professional. Lone working is part of this role.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
