The opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic, and child-focused person to join the Children’s Community Nursing Team as a part-time Health Care Assistant. The successful applicant will assist qualified nursing staff within the Children’s Community Nursing Team to provide care and support to infants, children, and young people up to 18 years old in their own homes or other community settings. You will work autonomously in the community following training, within the level of competence for the post, to deliver agreed plans of care. There will be opportunities to progress professionally supported by training and learning opportunities.
Please indicate in your application whether you have a clean driving license. Previous experience working with children with special needs or healthcare is an advantage.
The post holder:
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, as well as in community sites, health centres, and patients’ homes. We also have nearly 150 volunteers at CHFT.
Our services include urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end-of-life care; outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.
We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres such as Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS—yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members—patients, staff, and the local community.
Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in changes to meet local community needs, striving to be the best and putting patients first.
