Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in Carlisle is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant (Band 3) to join our patient care team.

You will work under a registered practitioner to deliver high‑quality, individualised care, perform physical health checks, phlebotomy and ECG, and support multidisciplinary colleagues across North Cumbria.

Qualifications

• Completion of a competency-based programme within probationary period or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Knowledge of care-related procedures, clinical observation, relevant legislation.
• Level 3 qualification in a healthcare related subject OR a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Understanding of mental health and/or learning disabilities needs.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the delivery of care to service users under the direction of a registered practitioner.
• To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring high quality, individualised care that promotes recovery and wellbeing.
• To complete physical health checks including phlebotomy and ECG, in line with NICE guidelines.

Interested in working with people who have a difficult relationship with food? North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service (NCAEDS) are looking for a Clinical Support Assistant who is interested in working with people who have a problematic relationships with food.

We would like to offer this experience to an individual who is motivated to work with patients and their families/loved ones in their own home/across environments.

To be able to work in a multi professional team who are committed to evidence based interventions and compassionate care.

There is an expectation of the post holder being able to independently travel across North Cumbria

The service operates across core business hours 9-5pm Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

Education and Qualification
