We are currently looking for a Clinical Specialist Therapist (Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) to work within the Urgent Care Therapy team. The team provides services across the Emergency Department (ED), Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and both the medical & frailty Short Stay Units.
We work alongside the Frailty & Interface Team (FIT) within ED & AMU, ensuring frailty screening & Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments are completed in the emergency corridor.
Not only do we see frail patients within the emergency corridor, but we are also responsible for providing any therapy intervention in ED/AMU. We therefore see a large variety of patients with respiratory, neurological & orthopaedic conditions. You will assist in the smooth running of the patient discharge pathway preventing unnecessary admission to the acute hospital wards. This fast-paced and often complex caseload will involve functional and risk assessments, liaising with a variety of services in both health and social care as well as working alongside both Consultants in Emergency Care and Consultant Physicians/Geriatricians.
