Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Specialist Sonographer to join a friendly team across multiple sites, performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations including obstetric and gynaecology, with vascular and small parts as required. The role involves independent reporting and flexibility for weekend/evening shifts.

The department supports training and CPD, provides access to modern imaging systems, and values patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• A recognised Post Graduate CASE Accredited Ultrasound qualification is required.
• UK professional registration as Radiographer with the Health Professions Council (HPC) is required; or as a Midwife/Nurse with the RCN.
• CPD is actively encouraged and the department supports training and development.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of examinations including general abdominal, obstetrics, and gynaecology; vascular and small parts.
• Work independently and issue your own reports.
• Participate in weekend and evening rota with potential compressed hours to 3–4 days per week.
• Support ongoing CPD, audits, and education activities within the department.
