Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in Durham and Darlington is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse to provide clinical leadership, supervise the team and manage a caseload of Children and Young People with eating disorders.

The post supports service development, works across two bases and may involve weekend working as part of a 7-day service. Sponsorship under UKVI may be considered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (RMN/RNLD/RGN)
• Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or in progress
• Trained in Clinical Supervision or in progress
• Postgraduate qualification in relevant areas (level 7) such as MSc/PGDip
• Equivalent significant clinical experience (min 2 years) at band 6+ in relevant area

Clinical Specialist Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse within our Durham and Darlington Children's and Young People Eating Disorder Team. Within this role you will be required to offer clinical leadership support to team members and the team manager, participate in service development, and hold a caseload and offer assessment and treatment for eating disorders.

Working alongside the current leadership team in developing future clinical work and oversight of our Eating Disorder Service.

We work across two bases: The Acley Centre in Newton Aycliffe and North End House in Durham. We currently operate as a 7 day service so there may be some weekend working.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with high motivation and a keen interest in continuing the improvement of our young people's care and treatment.

This role involves the clinical leadership of the team, offering supervision and guidance and supporting the development of our multi-disciplinary team alongside Leadership Colleagues.

The service is currently going through transformation and as such this is an exciting time to join the Trust and be a part of the modelling of this.

Job responsibilities

As part of the role the postholder will : -

• Monitoring and reviewing Children and Young People.
• Care Coordination of Children and Young Peoples needs
• Clinical Leadership support within the team
• Recognising safeguarding concerns and effectively communicating with alternative agencies to eliminate this appropriately.
• Attendance at Safeguarding meetings, and core group meetings.
• Monitoring and reviewing risk management, participating in the formulation of safety planning.
• Offering clinical supervision, and caseload management.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only.
• Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
• Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
• And - Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses, Module (20 credit) at level 7 - For example Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters Degree, Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Postgraduate diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber), Psychosocial Interventions
• And - Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent
