Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an educational clinician to help plan, organise, implement, and evaluate the delivery of clinical skills training and simulations for the Undergraduate Medical Education Team.

The post holder will supervise MBChB and Aston University students in paediatrics rotations, teach clinical skills sessions, participate in MBChB OSCEs, and promote high-quality care while developing professionally within the Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching MBChB/PA students in clinical settings.
• Ability to plan and evaluate clinical skills training programmes.
• Familiarity with OSCEs and clinical assessments in medical education.

Responsibilities

• Organise and deliver clinical teaching of MBChB/PA students (bedside, small group, simulation).
• Coordinate teaching programme with Head of Academy and medical schools.
• Contribute to student clinical examinations and assessments.
• Support students in pastoral role and signpost/escalation when needed.
• Liaise with medical schools and Trust staff and education developers.
• Undergo teaching methods training as agreed, including CPD.
• Facilitate student self-directed learning and curriculum familiarity.
• Keep clinical practice up to date and engage in CPD and clinics/ward rounds as appropriate.
• Undertake quality improvement and/or research aligned with candidate interests.
• Comply with Trust policies and procedures.
