Job summary

Transformation Unit in Blackburn is seeking a skilled Clinical Skills Educator to deliver and evaluate clinical skills training across ELHT. You will co-ordinate the Preceptorship Programme and provide expert advice to ward managers and educators, promoting best practice in clinical education.

Qualifications

• Evidence of competence within a wide range of clinical skills.
• Teaching/assessing qualification and experience in clinical education.
• Extensive post-registration clinical experience in an acute setting.
• Formal facilitation skills and training experience.
• Ability to support learners across clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical skills training (venepuncture, cannulation, IV therapies, ECG, catheterisation, tracheostomy care, AIM).
• Provide monthly reports on courses, development and preceptorship progress.
• Manage teaching groups to ensure equity and access.
• Collate data, feedback and resources to evaluate course materials.
• Support clinical areas with skills development and preceptorship programmes.
• Organise and deliver training across ELHT sites as needed.
• Act as faculty for resuscitation courses (ILS/BLS) as required.
• Evaluate service delivery and initiate improvements.
