Job summary

Circle Health Group's Syon Clinic in Middlesex is seeking a Clinical Services Manager to lead the Imaging department, develop service delivery, and ensure high quality, patient-focused Diagnostic Imaging across modalities.

The role requires extensive radiography experience in acute settings, clinical lead experience, and the ability to recruit Radiologists while collaborating with the SMT to drive business development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Radiographer post or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a Clinical Lead role.
• Experience in customer care with challenging patients.
• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Management/supervisory experience in a multi-modality imaging department.
• Ability to analyse data to identify business development opportunities and influence performance.
• Knowledge of healthcare service sector and systems.
• Strategic awareness of commercial healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage service delivery with professional standards and resource control.
• Contribute to strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
• Ensure high-quality, responsive diagnostic imaging services for customers and business.
• Build relationships with Radiologists to match specialties and maximise sessional use.

• Conduct radiographic examinations autonomously and as part of a team.
• Ensure Radiation Protection Supervisors cover all modalities and stay trained.
• Ensure safe work environments and adherence to local rules.
• Comply with mandatory training.

Syon Clinic in Middlesex is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Services Manager to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a full‑time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include

• You develop and manage service delivery within your area of responsibility with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment, utilisation and control of all resources, whilst providing a high quality, responsive, patient‑focused service.
• You contribute to the strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
• You ensure that high quality, responsive Diagnostic Imaging services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business.
• You develop and maintain professional relationships with Radiologists ensuring clinical expertise matches the specialties of the Hospital and referring clinician needs, and ensure sessional use is maximised.
• You identify and recruit Radiologists in conjunction with the Senior Management Team (SMT), taking opportunities to widen the clinical expertise available in the departments.
• You formally meet (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss department development, clinical and operational issues.
• You oversee the day‑to‑day operational supervision of Diagnostic Imaging services.
• You conduct radiographic examinations as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi‑professional team in line with professional & departmental standards.
• You ensure there are sufficient Radiation Protection Supervisors appointed to cover all modalities in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, that their Role Profile is signed, their training is up to date and protected time is allocated to ensure their duties are fulfilled.
• You ensure all work environments are safe and that all local rules and systems of work are observed.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria

• Extensive experience working in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Radiographer post or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a Clinical Lead role.
• Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers/patients and situations.
• A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Management / supervisory experience within a multi‑modality imaging department.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and make recommendations on data specific to the hospital to identify business development opportunities, change current practice, monitor and influence performance.
• Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
• Strategic awareness with an ability to understand the commercial perspective of healthcare delivery.
• Recruitment and selection skills.
