Job summary

Circle Health Group seeks a Clinical Services Manager – Imaging at Syon Clinic, Middlesex. The role oversees the imaging service, ensuring high-quality, patient-focused diagnostic imaging delivery, with responsibility for strategic and operational development within the hospital.

You will manage radiology staff, recruit radiologists, ensure safety and training standards, and work with senior management to optimise departmental performance. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in an acute hospital setting in a senior radiographer post or equivalent.
• Experience in a clinical lead role.
• Experience in customer care including challenging patients.
• Degree or diploma in diagnostic radiography, HCPC registration.
• Management/supervisory experience in a multi-modality imaging department.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage service delivery within imaging to ensure high quality, patient-focused service.
• Support strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
• Oversee day-to-day operational supervision of diagnostic imaging services.
• Recruit radiologists with Senior Management Team; maximize sessional use.
• Ensure radiation protection supervisors are appointed, trained and compliant.

Clinical Services Manager – Imaging

Syon Clinic, Middlesex – 37.5 hours per week, full‑time, permanent, competitive salary.

Overview

The role is within the imaging department, responsible for managing service delivery to ensure a high‑quality, patient‑focused diagnostic imaging service.

Duties of this role include

• You develop and manage service delivery within your area of responsibility with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment, utilisation and control of all resources whilst providing a high quality, responsive, patient‑focused service.
• You contribute to the strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
• You ensure that high quality, responsive diagnostic imaging services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business.
• You develop and maintain professional relationships with radiologists, ensuring clinical expertise matches the specialties of the hospital and referring clinician needs, and ensure sessional use is maximised.
• You identify and recruit radiologists in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, taking opportunities to widen the clinical expertise available in the department.
• You formally meet (minimum annually) with radiologists to discuss department development, clinical and operational issues.
• You oversee the day‑to‑day operational supervision of diagnostic imaging services.
• You conduct radiographic examinations as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi‑professional team in line with professional and departmental standards.
• You ensure that sufficient radiation protection supervisors are appointed to cover all modalities in the diagnostic imaging department, that their role profiles are signed, their training is up to date and protected time is allocated to fulfil their duties.
• You ensure all work environments are safe and that all local rules and systems of work are observed.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria

• Extensive experience working in an acute hospital setting in a senior radiographer post or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a clinical lead role.
• Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers/patients and situations.
• A degree or diploma in diagnostic radiography.
• HCPC registration.
• Management / supervisory experience within a multi‑modality imaging department.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and make recommendations on data specific to the hospital to identify business development opportunities, change current practice, monitor and influence performance.
• Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
• Strategic awareness with an ability to understand the commercial perspective of healthcare delivery.
• Recruitment and selection skills.
