Job summary

Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is seeking a Clinical Lead to head Imaging, working 37.5 hours per week in a full-time role. You will oversee clinical service delivery, liaise with Radiologists, and support efficient sessional use while guiding a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires a Radiography degree/diploma and at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a multi-modality imaging department, with IRMER/IRR17 knowledge and a patient-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in an acute hospital setting in a senior radiography post.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a multi-modality imaging department.
• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Knowledge of IRMER Regulations and IRR17.
• Broad radiographic background with one or more specialised areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical service delivery with staff and ensure high-quality, patient-focused service.
• Maintain dialogue with Consultant Radiologists and maximise sessional use with DCS support.
• Attend annual meetings with Radiologists to discuss clinical and operational issues.
• Build and maintain multi-disciplinary relations to meet clinical requirements.
• Monitor revenue capture processes and ensure timely charging and dispatch.
• Perform radiographic examinations autonomously and within a team.

Salary: Up to £53,500.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join their team of staff in theImaging department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You oversee day-to-day clinical service delivery, with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment of staff and provision of a high quality, responsive, patient focused service.
• You maintain ongoing dialogue with Consultant Radiologists on all clinical aspects of Imaging service delivery and support the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in ensuring sessional use is maximised.
• You support the DCS by attending meetings (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss clinical and operational issues.
• You build and maintain excellent multi-disciplinary consultant relations, ensuring clinical service delivery meets clinical requirements.
• You monitor all revenue capture procedures and ensure that charges are completed, checked and dispatched in a timely manner.
• You conduct radiographic examinations as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team in line with professional & departmental standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Experience working in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Radiography post or equivalent.
• Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers and situations.
• A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
• A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within a multi-modality imaging department.
• A wide general radiographic background with expertise in one or more specialised areas.
• Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
• Aware of College of Radiographers and HCPC Code of Conduct / Accountability.
• Knowledge of IRMER and IRR17 Regulations.
