Job summary

University of Oxford is seeking a fixed-term Research Nurse to manage day-to-day respiratory studies within the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit, part of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine. The role covers participant care, sample processing and data management across observational, drug and device trials for lung diseases, with occasional travel for training.

Applicants should have NMC registration as an adult nurse and be able to work within NHS honorary contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and trial monitors.
• Ensure recruitment and follow-up follow trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice.
• Work closely with other research nurses and practitioners in the delivery team.
• Attend team meetings, training and investigator meetings, which may involve travel.

Job description

This fixed-term research nurse post sits within the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Oxford, and runs for 12 months. The role centres on day-to-day management of allocated respiratory studies, covering participant care, biological sample processing and trial data. The portfolio spans observational studies, drug trials and device trials across conditions including interstitial lung disease, COPD, lung cancer and sleep-disordered breathing, with occasional travel for training. Fit depends on NMC registration and a background that suits an NHS honorary contract.
