About the Role
This is a fully funded project for 2 years, including PhD fees for a doctor in training interested in a career in academic dermatology to undertake a PhD. A third year of funding will be applied for. The project focuses on rare genetic skin diseases such as ichthyosis, palmoplantar keratoderma, and epidermolysis bullosa. The clinical fellow will work on a project involving the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative-funded Human Pediatric Skin Atlas, which includes patient recruitment, public engagement through the Centre of the Cell, and the use of advanced omics technology and cell biology to explore basement membrane collagens' effects on the nucleus and identify new therapeutic targets.
About You
You should be a doctor in training interested in dermatology, having completed at least FY2. You should be organized, able to prioritize workload, and possess excellent communication skills. An interest in histology, in vivo work, data analysis, and acquiring skills such as coding and bioinformatics is desirable.
