Job description

This is an exciting job opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist interested in expanding their experience in working with patients with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions. We are recruiting to a full-time, permanent post working as part of the Ealing Clinical Neuropsychology Service. We are part of the wider Clinical Health and Neuropsychology Service, providing neuropsychology and clinical health services within the London borough of Ealing.

We are looking for someone with experience of neuropsychological rehabilitation and/or neuropsychological assessment and intervention with patients with neurological conditions. The post would particularly suit someone who enjoys working with varied client groups, teamwork, providing consultation and teaching to other health professionals, and contributing to service development. We would welcome applications from newly qualified and soon-to-be qualified clinical psychologists.

We are part of a broader clinical neuropsychology and health network in West London NHS Trust, with over 20 neuropsychologists and health psychologists working across North West London. We meet regularly with the wider network which offers excellent opportunities for peer support and continued professional development. We are also able to offer specialist supervision and support to psychologists who would like to pursue training for entry on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychology.

Main duties of the job

Alongside more senior psychologists, the role involves working as part of an interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

The clinical psychologist will provide neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation for patients with neurological disorders as well as providing support for their families and carers. This will often include cognitive rehabilitation, psychological therapy to help with emotional adjustment and engagement in rehabilitation, behavioural interventions, teaching and consultation. The role will also include facilitating group interventions, both in-person and online. Based on service need, and staff skills and preferences, the role may require working within both a community neurorehabilitation service and an in-patient neurorehabilitation Level 3 unit.
