Job description

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our team on a part-time basis, working across our Northampton sites providing rehabilitation and residential services for up to 37 adults.

Wycliffe House is a male-only service that can support those with associated past or present drug and alcohol addictions. In addition to a diagnosis of a neurological condition and addiction, service users may present with cognitive impairments, communication disorders, and behaviours that challenge.

Lloyd House has 17 bedrooms, four of which form our transitional living unit, which is for those who are ready for more independent living. The service is close to local shops and the park, so residents can benefit from social, occupational, and educational opportunities in an ideal setting for neurorehabilitation.

Christchurch View offers a pathway from post-acute rehabilitation through to specialist community-based transitional rehabilitation. We are committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, and empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible.

Abington View is a female-only service providing specialist community-based transitional neurological rehabilitation services for those who are not quite ready for supported living.

At Active Care Group, we are committed to ensuring that every individual we support feels safe, happy, and empowered to live their best life possible. With a collaborative and holistic approach to care, we work effectively in partnership with stakeholders to deliver high-quality integrated health and care services. With over 30 years of specialist knowledge and experience in managing complex conditions, including ventilation and respiratory issues, spinal injuries, brain injuries, epilepsy, neurological conditions, and learning disabilities, we are dedicated to helping individuals progress towards a more independent future.

As a Clinical Psychologist within our team, you will play a vital role in providing psychological assessment, intervention, and support to our residents. Your expertise will contribute to the holistic care approach we offer, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs. If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply and join us in our mission to help individuals lead their best lives!

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours for this role are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with days and times to be agreed. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.
  2. Complete assessment and clinical formulation of patients’ problem behaviours and treatment needs.
  3. Provide evidence-based individual and group treatment programmes to address or reduce the negative impact of difficulties.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes.
  5. Direct and support others to carry out evidence-based clinical psychology interventions.
  6. Take personal responsibility for ensuring that appropriate security procedures are adhered to at all times and that risks are continuously assessed and managed.
  7. Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.

What you'll have:

  1. HCPC registration.
  2. BPS registration.
  3. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.

The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging knowledge of specialist neuropsychological assessment and the treatment of adults presenting with complex, acquired neurological disorders, in particular those with cognitive, psychological, and emotional impairments, which prevent them from achieving independent functioning in daily living. In addition, you will have extensive experience of delivering individual therapy and helping non-psychology team members work with people who have experienced an acquired brain injury, coupled with good team and leadership skills.

We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident committed employer.

What to look forward to:

  1. Birthday off.
  2. Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e-learning and face-to-face training and development opportunities.
  3. Active Reward App giving discounts and savings on your weekly shop.
  4. Free 24-hour confidential Employee Assistance Programme Helpline & App to support with legal, health, wellbeing, relationship, and consumer advice.
  5. A salary sacrifice Aegon 5% matched pension.
  6. Access to join a Medicash Health Plan for you and your family to save money on everyday health essentials – like going to the dentist or opticians.
  7. We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme.
  8. Enhanced Sick & Maternity Pay benefits.
  9. Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1500 by recommending someone you know.
  10. ……and, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group.
