Are you interested in the challenges and rewards of working with children who have complex physical health needs impacting on, or exacerbated by, their mental health and wellbeing? Engaging with the systems around the young person, and their family, to facilitate their healthcare journey, maximising their physical and mental health outcomes?

The post holder will provide psychological assessment and intervention to patients, parents and families through individual appointments and groups and workshops. The postholder will also provide perspectives to psychological care planning in collaboration with other members of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as providing teaching and training to MDTs and other BWC staff. The postholder will promote psychological healthcare and contribute to the creation of trauma-informed healthcare environment for patients, families and staff.
The post could be appointed either as a preceptorship towards an 8a role for the right applicant wishing to develop from a band 7 or be appointed at 8a. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly. We are able to put a full development plan in place from day one to support applicants wishing to be considered for this post as a preceptorship.
