Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire in Wishaw seeks a highly motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join the hospital pharmacy team. You will deliver specialist pharmaceutical care across medical, surgical, and critical care areas, participate in MDTs, and support education, audits, and service development.

Applicants should hold a Masters of Pharmacy, be on the GPhC register, and have post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy; an independent prescribing qualification or progression toward it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters of Pharmacy Degree required.
• GPhC registration in good standing.
• Independent prescribing qualification or progress toward it.
• Postgraduate training in clinical pharmacy practice.
• Post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred specialist pharmaceutical care in designated clinical areas.
• Communicate effectively with patients and MDT colleagues.
• Deliver patient education on safe medication use and devices.
• Plan and prioritise workload to meet service needs.
• Act as deputy for Senior Specialist Pharmacist where appropriate.
• Provide operational support and participate in weekend/public holiday rotas.
