More about the role

Are you a dedicated nurse committed to delivering holistic care? Do you have an interest in palliative care? We seek a motivated nurse eager to develop their skills and experience in palliative care, supported by clinical reflective practice and professional development opportunities. The post is for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist, but a developing Band role may be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional, specialist palliative care team working alongside a multidisciplinary team across community and acute care sectors.

The Seaton Hospice at Home operates within an Integrated Model for Palliative and End of Life Care, integrating community services to provide continuous, patient-centered care, often allowing patients to die at home.

The service is managed by the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust, funded by the Seaton League of Friends, providing 24/7 specialist palliative care with shifts covering 08:00-16:00, 10:00-18:00, and 12:00-20:00, with overnight on-call support.

Working Pattern: 30 hours/week over 4 days, with shifts varying between 08:00-16:00, 10:00-18:00, and 12:00-20:00, including overnight on-call duties.

Further information: Contact Jo Barkley, Integrated Palliative Care Nurse Team Manager, at 01297 626122 or j.barkley@nhs.net.

Inclusivity: The Royal Devon values diversity and promotes an inclusive culture, encouraging applications from all backgrounds. Priority will be given to staff with ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status, including NHS At Risk staff across Devon.

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust reserves the right to close the vacancy once sufficient applications are received.

The Trust was established in April 2022, combining expertise from the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.
