Job summary

SaccoMann is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE to join a well-established Birmingham team. You will handle a varied caseload of high-quality claims for individuals harmed by negligent medical treatment.

You’ll take responsibility for your own matters, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and build strong relationships with clients throughout their claims, with flexible hybrid working on offer.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years’ PQE in clinical negligence.
• Experience handling claimant clinical negligence matters.
• Strong legal, analytical and drafting skills.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to manage own caseload and meet deadlines.
• Compassionate approach with clients who have suffered serious injury.
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach with ambition to develop career.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters from instruction through to resolution.
• Advising clients in relation to medical negligence claims, including cases involving serious and life-changing injuries.
• Investigating claims, reviewing medical records and obtaining expert evidence.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other legal documentation.
• Negotiating settlements and working towards the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Liaising with medical experts, counsel and other professionals.
• Providing clear, empathetic and practical advice to clients throughout their claims.
• Working closely with senior members of the team on more complex matters.
• Contributing to the continued development and growth of the practice.
