Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Lead Therapist to head the Therapies Complex Discharge Team. You will oversee a diverse clinical caseload across wards, focusing on complex cases and timely patient discharge.

The role requires leading a multidisciplinary therapy team, planning staffing and ensuring high quality, evidence-based care in line with NHS policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in assessing and planning clinical therapy interventions.
• Experience working in the NHS and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience managing a clinical caseload and prioritising work.
• Knowledge of discharge pathways and patient flow.
• Experience treating patients with complex discharge needs.
• Experience leading a team and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Be the Clinical Lead Therapist for the Therapies Complex Discharge Team.
• Manage a clinical caseload across multiple wards, specialising in complex cases and facilitating discharge.
• Provide leadership to a team of therapists and therapy staff within the clinical area.
• Participate in seven day working patterns including bank holidays and on-call duties.
• Lead on recruitment, supervision, appraisals and staff development plans.
• Develop guidelines and participate in audits, policy and service development.
