Job summary

CHD Living Wey Meadows in Elstead, Surrey, is opening a brand-new care home and seeks a Clinical Lead to establish and shape the clinical culture from day one. You will balance on-floor clinical hours with supernumerary time to lead the team and develop care standards.

The role requires an experienced nurse with NMC registration, strong leadership, and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with an active NMC registration.
  • NVQ/Level 5 Leadership for Adult Care or willingness to work towards.
  • Strong clinical leadership and team-support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and inspire nursing and care staff to deliver safe, person-centred care.
  • Take lead responsibility for clinical standards, medication and care services within the home.
  • Provide hands-on clinical support and guidance alongside the team on the floor.
  • Undertake assessments and respond to changes in residents’ health and wellbeing.
  • Promote a positive culture of professionalism, compassion, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Support staff through induction, probation, supervision and development.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, infection prevention and control, health and safety and safeguarding.
  • Identify and manage risks, escalating concerns when required.
  • Collaborate with residents, relatives and external professionals to build positive relationships.
  • Act as a positive role model to establish culture and standards of the brand-new home.

Rate: Up to £55,000 per annum - dependent on experience

This is an exciting opportunity to join CHD Living and be part of the opening of our brand-new care home, Wey Meadows, in Elstead, Surrey.

As a Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in establishing and shaping the clinical culture of a brand-new home from the very beginning. You’ll have the opportunity to help create a service where exceptional clinical care, compassion, teamwork and continuous improvement are embedded from day one.

Role Descriptiom

As our Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership and support across Wey Meadows, working closely with the Home Management Team, Registered Nurses, care staff and wider multidisciplinary team.

The role combines clinical hours working alongside the team on the floor with supernumerary hours, giving you the opportunity to remain actively involved in resident care while providing strong clinical leadership.

As our new Clinical Lead, you will:

What we're looking for:
  • An experienced and passionate nurse who is ready to take the next step in their clinical leadership career and play an important role in establishing a new service
  • A recognised nursing qualification and valid NMC registration.
  • Experience providing clinical leadership and support to nursing and care teams.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to recognise and respond to changes in residents’ health.
  • Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards, safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and good clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A positive and approachable manner, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care and customer service.
  • The ability to work proactively, use your own initiative and adapt to the demands of a new and evolving service.
  • An NVQ/Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Adult Care, or a willingness to work towards this.
